March 3, 2024: A Reader’s Reminder Of The Goodness Within Us

March 12, 2024 by webmaster Leave a Comment

I get a number of suggestions from readers regarding topics for a column.  For that, I am grateful.  I also get suggestions from some readers about what I can do with the column and where I can go while placing it where they suggest.  For that, I will leave to your imagination. A good example of how this particular column came to be was from an incident related to me by a … [Read more...] about March 3, 2024: A Reader’s Reminder Of The Goodness Within Us

February 25, 2024: Looking At Some Serious Monkey Business In Bainbridge

March 5, 2024 by webmaster Leave a Comment

Today, dear readers let us turn out attention to some serious monkey business currently taking place in the Great State of Georgia.  And, no, I’m not talking about stolen elections and fake electors.  I’m talking about monkeys.  Real live monkeys. It seems that Bainbridge, the home of University of Georgia football coach Kirby Smart and one of my all-time favorite political … [Read more...] about February 25, 2024: Looking At Some Serious Monkey Business In Bainbridge

February 18, 2024: Cornbread Another Official Reason To Love This Great State

February 28, 2024 by webmaster Leave a Comment

By the time you see this, cornbread may be Georgia’s official state bread.  It has been a long time coming and it might not have happened except for the herculean efforts of state Rep. Kasey Carpenter, R-Dalton, who happens to be a restaurant owner when not getting inspiring legislation passed under the Gold Dome. Of course, as with everything in politics there was some … [Read more...] about February 18, 2024: Cornbread Another Official Reason To Love This Great State

February 11, 2024: Some Random Thoughts On Some Random Subjects

February 20, 2024 by webmaster Leave a Comment

How’s this for unbridled hypocrisy?  Fani Willis, who is prosecuting Donald Trump and others for election fraud, said when running for the job as Fulton County district attorney that she would not date any of her subordinates.  According to video footage first reported by the Washington Free Beacon, Willis said on the "The Patricia Crayton Show" in April 2020,  "I will … [Read more...] about February 11, 2024: Some Random Thoughts On Some Random Subjects

February 4, 2024: Reflecting On The Loss Of Three Fallen Heroes

February 12, 2024 by webmaster Leave a Comment

To: Sgt. Breonna Moffet.  Sgt. William Jerome Rivers.  Sgt. Kennedy Sanders: I did not know you personally and the likelihood is that our paths might never have crossed.  That does not matter. Today, like your family, your friends and your fellow Americans, I am grieving at the news of your senseless deaths from a terrorist drone attack in Jordan.  You were in the wrong … [Read more...] about February 4, 2024: Reflecting On The Loss Of Three Fallen Heroes

Dicktations: Here’s What I’m Thinking

State Sen.Steve Gooch, R-Dahlonega, has announced he is running for lieutenant governor.  Gooch is the guy who said that approving permits to strip-mine the Okefenokee for titanium dioxide to manufacture, among other things, toothpaste whitener is not a legislative matter.  It is up to the bureaucrats to decide. This, despite overwhelming opposition from Georgians across the state.  File that away and remember it when it comes time to vote.  I know I will. … [Read More...] about A long memory

Yarbrough received over 1,000 email responses last year – both positive and negative. Though most of the emails he receives support his viewpoints, one thing is for sure: Dick Yarbrough’s column speaks to people and they respond. Here is a sampling of email responses Yarbrough has received in the past:

  • Thanks for writing what we all are thinking.
  • I am annoyed by anybody who presumes to know what Georgians think.  And that, sir, includes you.
