January 28, 2024: Georgians Seem Satisfied With Language We Already Have

February 6, 2024 by webmaster Leave a Comment

I saw a poll recently that says Georgians aren’t very interested in learning other languages.  I don’t know what your excuse is but I’m still trying to master the language I already have.  When I get who vs. whom figured out, you will be the first to know. Test Prep Insight, an organization that works with students to get them ready for college, enrolling in a GRE prep … [Read more...] about January 28, 2024: Georgians Seem Satisfied With Language We Already Have

January 21, 2024: Fulton County DA Suddenly Finds Herself In A Big Mess

January 29, 2024 by webmaster Leave a Comment

Shades of Laurel and Hardy.  When something went awry in one of their slapstick movies, Oliver Hardy would declare to hapless Stan Laurel, “This is a fine mess you've gotten us into.”  This would certainly apply to Fulton County district attorney, Fani Willis, and unlike Laurel and Hardy who managed to extricate themselves from said mess before the end of the movie, Willis’s … [Read more...] about January 21, 2024: Fulton County DA Suddenly Finds Herself In A Big Mess

January 14, 2024: Voters, Not The Courts, Should Decide Presidential Choices

January 22, 2024 by webmaster Leave a Comment

In case you haven’t noticed, there is an election scheduled for this November to choose the Leader of the Free World.  As of this writing, the choice is between two candidates that polls a majority of the American people don’t particularly care for.  According to the latest Gallup Poll, Pres. Joe Biden is viewed favorably by 41% of U.S. adults.  Former Pres. Donald Trump’s … [Read more...] about January 14, 2024: Voters, Not The Courts, Should Decide Presidential Choices

January 7, 2024: To Cameron Charles Yarbrough: Some Advice For The New Year

January 14, 2024 by webmaster

Dear Cameron: Well, here we go again.  A new year and some more unsolicited advice from your great grandpa.  We have been at this quite awhile.  I  hope these observations have been of some value to you.  A lot of what I want to share with you are matters I wish someone had covered with me when I was your age.  Maybe I wouldn’t have made as many mistakes in my life as I … [Read more...] about January 7, 2024: To Cameron Charles Yarbrough: Some Advice For The New Year

Dicktations: Here’s What I’m Thinking

State Sen.Steve Gooch, R-Dahlonega, has announced he is running for lieutenant governor.  Gooch is the guy who said that approving permits to strip-mine the Okefenokee for titanium dioxide to manufacture, among other things, toothpaste whitener is not a legislative matter.  It is up to the bureaucrats to decide. This, despite overwhelming opposition from Georgians across the state.  File that away and remember it when it comes time to vote.  I know I will. … [Read More...] about A long memory

Yarbrough received over 1,000 email responses last year – both positive and negative. Though most of the emails he receives support his viewpoints, one thing is for sure: Dick Yarbrough’s column speaks to people and they respond. Here is a sampling of email responses Yarbrough has received in the past:

  • Thanks for writing what we all are thinking.
  • I am annoyed by anybody who presumes to know what Georgians think.  And that, sir, includes you.
