November 19, 2023: Giving Thanks At This Special Time Of Year

November 28, 2023 by webmaster Leave a Comment

I am thankful.  I am thankful that while you may see other Thanksgiving columns appear at this time of reflection, you took the time to read this one. I am thankful the editors allow me this space to share with you the things for which I am most thankful as well as a weekly platform to state my opinions on whatever I choose.  I am thankful no one tells me what I can or … [Read more...] about November 19, 2023: Giving Thanks At This Special Time Of Year

November 12, 2023: Trying To Understand Artie Fishel Intelligence

November 22, 2023 by webmaster Leave a Comment

RING!  RING! “Hello.  Dick Yarbrough Enterprises.  Dick Yarbrough, one of America’s beloved and yet one of its most-modest columnists speaking.” “Hello, human person.  This is Artie Fishel, of Artie Fishel Intelligence, calling.  I am not a happy camp. . . um, robot at the moment.” “Artie, I’m sorry to hear that and am a bit surprised because I didn’t think emotions … [Read more...] about November 12, 2023: Trying To Understand Artie Fishel Intelligence

November 5, 2023: Why Israel Has A Right To Defend Itself

November 14, 2023 by webmaster Leave a Comment

When I reflected in this space recently about having lost a grandson some 15 years ago, I received a lot of responses, including from those who had shared a similar experience of losing a child or grandchild of their own. One particular note stood out.  A reader who had suffered such a loss said he was approached by some well-intended soul who said, “I can’t imagine what you … [Read more...] about November 5, 2023: Why Israel Has A Right To Defend Itself

October 29, 2023: Attorney General Chris Carr Out To Stop Police Training Center Violence

November 7, 2023 by webmaster Leave a Comment

Georgia’s Attorney General Chris Carr is neither a RINO (Republican in Name Only) nor a RITNO (Republican in Trump’s Name Only.)  His solid conservative credentials mirror those of our late U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, which is appropriate since he once served as Isakson’s chief of staff in Washington. He is about to lay the wood to a bunch of creeps who are doing their best to … [Read more...] about October 29, 2023: Attorney General Chris Carr Out To Stop Police Training Center Violence

October 22, 2023: Georgia Congressman Austin Scott A Good Role Model For GOP

November 2, 2023 by webmaster Leave a Comment

Georgia Congressman Austin Scott, of Tifton, is what a Republican should be and used to be before the rightwing crowd took control.  Never in my long life I have I witnessed such a debacle as has taken place in the United States House of Representatives who, as of this writing, can’t agree on a permanent speaker.  This used to be the second most powerful position in our … [Read more...] about October 22, 2023: Georgia Congressman Austin Scott A Good Role Model For GOP

Dicktations: Here’s What I’m Thinking

State Sen.Steve Gooch, R-Dahlonega, has announced he is running for lieutenant governor.  Gooch is the guy who said that approving permits to strip-mine the Okefenokee for titanium dioxide to manufacture, among other things, toothpaste whitener is not a legislative matter.  It is up to the bureaucrats to decide. This, despite overwhelming opposition from Georgians across the state.  File that away and remember it when it comes time to vote.  I know I will. … [Read More...] about A long memory

Yarbrough received over 1,000 email responses last year – both positive and negative. Though most of the emails he receives support his viewpoints, one thing is for sure: Dick Yarbrough’s column speaks to people and they respond. Here is a sampling of email responses Yarbrough has received in the past:

  • Thanks for writing what we all are thinking.
  • I am annoyed by anybody who presumes to know what Georgians think.  And that, sir, includes you.
