Dick is a proud graduate of the University of Georgia.

Dick’s Accomplishments and Honors at UGA:

  •     President of the University of Georgia National Alumni Association, 1994-1996.
  •     Received the University’s Distinguished Alumni Award, 1995.
  •     Named Outstanding Alumnus at the Grady College of Journalism, 1988.
  •     Received the Blue Key Award for Leadership to the State and to the University, 1996.
  •     Recipient of The Sphinx, the University’s highest non-academic award, 1994.
  •     Member of the Greek Horsemen and Gridiron.
  •     C. Richard Yarbrough Public Relations Laboratory at the Grady College of Journalism named in his honor, 1995.
  •     Emeritus Trustee of The University of Georgia Foundation.

 

Pedestrian-Friendly Athens is known internationall for sports and music:

  •     Work out, scale the climbing wall, swim, play basketball and more at the Ramsey Center
  •     Hike, mountain bike, snow ski, kayak and lots more with UGS’s GORP (Georgia Outdoor Recreation Program)
  •     35 acres for intramural athletic activities
